It\u2019s not every day that we have visitors from faraway places like Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Mechanicsville, Virginia.  But when we do\u2026.  we do our best to play the part of gracious host and hostess.  After all, they\u2019ve done the hard part of actually getting to Brewton, Alabama!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a lot to be proud of in our little neck of the woods, and one of these is the white beaches of the Gulf Coast that are just outside our little town\u2019s back door.  So when our visitors came for the weekend, we fed them a good home-cooked meal and sent them to bed with full bellies.  The next day we all loaded up and went over the river and through the woods to Pensacola, Florida.  Our first stop was downtown Pensacola for a walk through this historic city with a bit of a French flair.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were a few good options for lunch.  We could have eaten seafood, but that\u2019s what we were planning to have for dinner.  We thought about eating in The Garden at Palafox which offers food truck options of cuisines from around the world. We aren\u2019t used to this many food choices in our little town of Brewton, Alabama.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We finally decided on Graffiti Pizza.  The name sounded interesting and somewhat familiar and the building looked appealing.  We had nothing to lose and everything to gain!  The line was long and that actually made us want to go in even more.  If a line is long, there\u2019s a reason for it.  They know something we don\u2019t know.  But we wanted to know!  So we joined the line!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It turns out that the name of the restaurant was inspired by the iconic Graffiti Bridge that is well known to Pensacola locals and tourists alike.  Since 1935, the 17th Avenue Railroad Trestle bridge has been a place of ever-changing graffiti artwork.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Graffiti Pizza was established to celebrate the creativity of the community and satisfy the locals\u2019 individual tastes.   The idea was to create a unique environment with good food and art.  And that sounds like my kind of place!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We looked over the menu and there were so many options that all sounded great!  We could each get individual slices or a whole pie.  It turns out that the New York style crust is made fresh daily in the restaurant.  Four of us decided to share a large veggie pizza and Cavin opted for a slice of Italian sausage pizza.   We all made the right choice!  The veggie pie was piled high with fresh mushrooms, peppers, onions, and more.  The Italian sausage pizza was savory and delicious.  The cheese was melted just right.  The hot pizza hit the spot on this summer day in Pensacola.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
