Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name\u2026.  and they\u2019re always glad you came!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our family loves going to new places.  In the 30 years that Cavin and I have been married, we have lived in 13 different cities – and three of them were in other countries!  Each place we have lived has been a great place.  We have loved each city and it became home to us while we lived there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Never in a million years would we have dreamed that we would wind up in my hometown of Brewton, Alabama.  Yet, by the Lord\u2019s hand, here we are!   Brewton is a small town in South Alabama, less than 10 miles from the Florida line! It\u2019s a town where everyone knows each other\u2026 and cares about each other.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The town seems to gather at David\u2019s Catfish<\/a> most every day for lunch!  If you get there around 11 and leave around 2, there\u2019s a good chance you\u2019ll see whoever you\u2019re looking for!  You\u2019ll see people waving across the restaurant and asking questions like, \u201cHow\u2019s your mama and them?\u201d or \u201cAre you going to the ballgame tonight?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Josh Godwin is the owner and operator at David\u2019s<\/a>.  He\u2019s there most days for lunch and supper!  He\u2019s the one in charge, but he\u2019s working just as hard as any of his employees.  He\u2019ll greet you by name and ask about your family.  He\u2019s one of those who genuinely care.  I\u2019ve seen him visit his customers – better known as friends – at their tables.  I\u2019ve also seen him give free meals to his friends going through difficult times.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On average, Cavin and I go to David\u2019s Catfish<\/a> at least once a week.  It\u2019s just where the town gathers for good food!  It\u2019s the go-to place in town to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, or take someone who\u2019s new in town or just passing through.  It\u2019s the place that you know you can count on to have your personal favorite from the menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were just there today for lunch\u2026.  As usual, the parking lot was full and we were greeted by friends when we came in.  I ordered the half dozen shrimp with fries and a loaded baked potato.  Cavin ordered the TNT shrimp appetizer as his meal.  Some days I order the Chicken Express Sandwich and Cavin often orders a cheeseburger.  Our son loves the all-you-can-eat boiled shrimp. Recently they have added Taco Tuesdays and feature Fish Tacos. You really can\u2019t go wrong with anything on the menu\u2026.!  They are called David\u2019s Catfish<\/a>, but they could just as easily change their name to David\u2019s Chicken or David\u2019s Burgers or David\u2019s Shrimp\u2026.  They don\u2019t have just one specialty\u2026. it\u2019s all good!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019ve never been to Brewton, you really should come and visit – or better yet – just move here!  When you come, we’ll take you to David\u2019s and introduce you to a few of our friends.  We would love to get to know YOUR name!  And we will be so glad YOU came! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
